How has your life changed now that you have lost weight? I hated being overweight so much that I never want to be that miserable again! What keeps you motivated to continue your weight loss success? I have to remain dedicated to my new way of living even when I don’t feel like it. I have maintained my weight loss for a year now. How long have you maintained your weight loss and what are the most important factors for keeping it off? I have some loose skin and I’m looking into different doctors to have it removed. It took 4 years to reach my current weight.ĭid you have any issues with loose skin after losing the weight? How long did it take for you to reach your current weight? It only took a few weeks to see a change because I was so large that the weight came off really fast, at first. How long did it take you to start to see results? Nobody in my house made changes to their eating or fitness and that was difficult to deal with during my journey. What was the most challenging thing you had to deal with during your weight loss journey? What were the most important changes you made to lose weight?Įating right all of the time and exercising at least 3 times a week were the keys to my weight loss. I thought it would be so much easier than Zumba. That fall I decided to try a boot camp while my son was at football practice since I had been an athlete growing up. I even told my friend that I was just going to be the “fat mom” forever. I hated it! Nothing about it was enjoyable to me. I decided to try a Zumba class while my son was practicing basketball. I always hated being the “big girl” though! I tried to just be the big girl and to own it and just make it a part of me. In my sophomore year of high school, I lost 50 pounds, but gained it all back and then some in my senior year. I was very active and played multiple sports at a competitive level, but could never get my eating under control. My mom tried to only have healthy options in the house, but that didn’t deter me and I would still eat in excess. I would eat anything in the house and I would eat it all. Since the 5th grade I have been the “big” girl and that’s about the time when my mom and step dad got divorced. ![]() When did you become unhappy with your weight? I was able to lose 200 pounds and went from a size 24 to a size 8 in pants! I also went from a size 4x to a medium in my tops and dresses!
